Grand Theatre Presents a Free Virtual Holiday Show in Support of London Food Bank

Families’ tradition of coming to the Grand Theatre each holiday season will be kept alive (virtually) this year as the theatre presents Comfort and Joy that will be streamed at 7 PM on December 22.

Thanks to the generous support of Title Sponsor Canada Life and Season Sponsor BMO Financial Group, the show will be offered at no cost to anyone wishing to tune in.

The Grand will be asking for voluntary monetary donations to the London Food Bank, a tradition that has seen audiences donate over $290,000 to the Food Bank over the past three seasons.

And though Mother Nature conspired to make it a bit more challenging, no amount of cold or rain could dampen the generous spirits of Londoners throughout the Forest City, as donations for Grocery Store Weekend exceeded 115,000 pounds worth of food and cash!

Tonight marks the opening night of the Grand Theatre's run of A Christmas Carol, and the company will be collecting cash donations in support of the Business Cares Food Drive. Attendees will have an opportunity every night of the show's run to contribute.

The final curtain has fallen on the Grand Theatre's production of A Christmas Carol, and with it comes the end of its #HumbugtoHunger campaign. And, like the post-epiphany version of Ebenezer Scrooge, Londoners have opened up their hearts and wallets to their fellow citizens contributing an incredible $133,169 during the show's run.

This was The Grand Theatre's inaugural campaign in support of the London Food Bank and, on behalf of the entire Business Cares Food Drive committee, the London Food Bank, and its supporters, we want to thank London for their dedication and generosity.

And We're Off! Kicking Off the 2017 Campaign in Grand Style

This morning, the Business Cares Food Drive, in support of the London Food Bank, kicked off in Grand style at Western University's London Hall. 

The students from The Grand Theatre's High School Project production of Evita kicked off the festivities by singing their own version of the 12 Days of Christmas, which was followed by speeches by campaign chair Wayne Dunn and other guests. The kickoff ended with two teams of students (captained by Dunn and Glen Pearson) competing to gather the most food whilst singing Walking in a Winter Wonderland.
