A Sincere Thanks ...

On behalf of the Business Cares food Drive committee, we would like to extend our sincere thankfulness to the entire London community for helping us raise an incredible 228,000 pounds of food for the London Food Bank. This is 4% higher than last year and given the continuing economic environment we have faced over the past 2 years really does show the generosity of our community.

Food Bank usage continues to increase, in fact we have seen a 6% increase with visits year over year and by doing what you have just done will satisfy the need at the Food Bank for the next 3 months. Although our drive is only 3 weeks, it has always come down to the last few days and this year was even more so given that we lost 4 days due to the snow

The London media was extremely helpful throughout the campaign and when we needed them the most they were there to help us get the message out. The response on the Monday and Tuesday of Christmas week was overwhelming, we heard from employees and employers, small and big business, many union locals, institutions and organizations, students and seniors all coming in with food and cheques. One elderly lady called for us to come to her house to pick up a 10 pound turkey...what a warm and thoughful expression of kindness.

Every contribution had helping others in mind and again confirmed to the fullest our campaign slogan of "Taking care of business means taking care of people". So thank you all...and you know who you are for helping when we needed it the most. We also offer appreciation from the thousands of people who are the recipients of your kindness. you have made a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Thank you for caring.
